Description

Winsel O. Black – First African-American doctor to practice at Salisbury’s hospital. Black relocated to Salisbury from Asheville in the early 1960s and opened numerous practices in his forty-plus years practicing medicine. When he started practicing medicine, Black was only allowed to see African-American patients in his own practice.
