Introduction

This is a collection of Daniel Boone and Boone family materials that accumulated in the McCubbins files of Rowan Public Library's Edith M. Clark History Room. Numerous researchers have contributed materials to the McCubbins "annex" files over the years. Because of this practice of slow addition, the provenance of these Boone family materials are unknown, although it appears that a number of items in this collection originated in the Archibald Henderson Collection. There are a number of folders that deal with Daniel Boone's biography and his role in the history of United States western migration. Genealogical materials provide information on various North Carolina Boone lines.
