Title
Description
According to the label on the slide, this is a view (from Washington Square) of Union Station in Worcester, Massachusetts. The station was built in 1911 by the New York Central Rail Road. The building was abandoned in 1975 and fell into disrepair. Fortunately, the building was restored instead of being torn down. Reopened in 2000, the station is a vibrant and contributing member of the community once again.
Notice the train on the overpass to the right of the station.
Most of the buildings on the right were demolished at some point. A large advertisement on the side of one of the buildings promotes the C. & J.W. Maher Real Estate Company.
A website with some good history of Worcester's Union Station can be found here.
